When another travel writer emails to let you know he’s enjoyed your book…

Yesterday I had an absolutely super email from round the worlder and author Mark Holmes. If you’ve not come across Mark yet, you’ll find him on Facebook but may I share the link to his excellent book ‘Rebirth’ with you.

It was such a super email I asked if I could share it with you guys. Thumbs up from Mark – this is what he wrote.

Your descriptions of places, sights, sounds, colours and even smells brought the journey to life, allowing me to share every moment of your travels with Birgit. Your encounters with strangers and reunions with friends were a privilege to read about, and I often felt as though I were there right along side you, sharing those moments.

Putting aside the everyday adventures that seem to go hand in hand with life on the road, such as the encounter with the rattlesnake, I have to say that what impressed me most about this part of your journey was the realisation that you were doing it all on an unimaginably small budget. Even now, I honestly don’t know how you managed it. I’m absolutely gobsmacked and in awe!’
