Why do I wear a leather pouch on my belt when I’m travelling? Well, lots of reasons.🙂
In mine I carry my wallet (with a card, and enough cash funds for the day) my passport, my journal and a pen. These vital things allow me freedom and memories.
The beauty of them being in a tough leather pouch on my belt is that they are never in a bag which I have to put down from time to time. I can never walk away, distracted, and leave them behind.
It’s much harder for a snatch and grab thief to get at these items than it is with a day pack – oh and yes, I do use a day pack – my travel pack has wire (piano wire works the best I think – its amazing hard to cut and surprisingly flexible) sewn into the shoulder straps so it’s not so easily slash and grabbable either. Paranoid?
Nah, lazy. 😁 Peace of mind so I can concentrate on the ride, the people and the places are what matters.
You’ll notice that my wallet also has a chain which attaches to a belt loop. Can’t drop it easily, and it’s less snatchable. 😊
All of that is a bit like having the right luggage and making sure that it’s strapped down properly so you can enjoy the ride 😊 Peace of mind…
The journal and pen? There’s no better place to make journal entries (brief notes that is) when you are standing in a queue, watching life from a street corner wall, waiting for food to come, or sitting in the shade of a great tree with a beautiful view spread before you and the words are flowing.
Journaling is a mindset and for me, the easier I make it to do, the more and better I do it. The more the memories stay, when life is wonderfully on intake overload.
